SHEASHAM Gweru Queens coach, Gibson Mutemera is a man with a dream, a very big dream.

He envisions himself leading the Gweru side to the helm of Women’s football in the country.

In his second year in charge of The Construction Girls/Mabhiridhakadzi, the soft spoken coach has managed to stabilize Sheasham Gweru Queens.

The side competes in the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League.

They are currently seventh on the log standings, with 30 points from 20 matches.

The Midlands based side are 22 points adrift of leaders Correctional Queens but Mutemera is not losing any sleep.

He reckons it’s all work in progress for his side and is happy with how his charges are coping with the competition.

“Our target this season is to finish better than we did in the last season,” he told The Echo Sports.

“Anything above that is a huge positive for us, it shows we are in the right direction.

“We have already shown that we are on the right path in terms of how we are applying ourselves.”

Mutemera has been in charge of Sheasham Gweru Queens since last year.

Last year he guided the team to a 10th place finish on the log standings.

He says he is using this season to prepare the team to challenge for silverware in the next seasons.

“Our goal is to be able to challenge for honors starting next season.

“I have given myself three seasons to build this team into a strong unit, this is my second season in charge and next year, we will be amongst the top teams,” he concluded.
