TELONE coach, Hebert Maruwa has set his sights on earning their first win of the season when they host champions Scottland at Ascot stadium this afternoon.
The Wifi boys have had an underwhelming start to the season picking just two points from four matches.
They are yet to pocket any points from home this season and Maruwa feels it is high time his side gets it right.
Maruwa says he has been working on the players’ mentality ahead of the visit by the champions.
“Much of it is now psychological, we have just been working on the players’ mentality,” he said.
“The boys just need to be resolute and stand their ground. We have prepared well for the Scottland game.
“We must make use of our home advantage, they are the champions but I’m positive we will get a favourable result.”
TelOne faces the champions at a time when they are on a resurgence after a slow start to the season.
Scottland have won their last matches in emphatic fashion spurred by Khama Billiat who has scored four goals so far.
But coach Norman Mapeza insists his side is yet to reach its peak.
“There is always room for improvement, of course we are not conceding but we have to improve,” he told the media on Wednesday.
“In all the matches we have played you see that the opponents will be getting chances.
“But I always tell the boys if there is communication there will be proper organization.”
Elsewhere, log leaders Caps United have a litmus test of their character when they trave to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Makepekepe coach, Takesure Chiragwi returns to familiar territory, to a place he won his only league title as a coach in 2023.
In Harare, Dynamos are at home to last season’s runners up MWOS at Rufaro stadium.
