IF Dynamos go on to miss out on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title, they will probably look back at their strikers as their biggest let down.
The Harare giants once again this season, failed to convert numerous chances that came their way and in the end, had to settle for a share of the spoils with Chicken Inn at Babourfields stadium on Saturday.
Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe once again pointed out his forwards’ lack of potency as a cause for concern.
“It’s unfortunate we were not clinical in front of goal,” he said, “I think we got better chances than our opponents.Overall I think we also played very well. I am happy that we managed to be solid at the back and didn’t concede.”
Even Chicken Inn gaffer, Joey Antipas admitted his side was let off the hook by a wasteful Dembare.
“I would say that we were lucky to come out with a point. Dynamos had the better chances,” Antipas said.
“We didn’t play our normal game. Usually we build from the back going forward, but today the guys were jittery.”
While Dembare were wasteful, Chicken Inn goalkeeper,Bernard Donovan was on guard to rescue the Bulawayo side with a string of good saves.
He brilliantly kept out Emmanuel Paga’s overhead kick in the opening 10 minutes. Bernard was called into action again in the second half with another fine save to deny Emmanuel Ziocha.
Nomore Chinyerere and Freddy Aleck both came close late in the second half but they failed to direct their efforts on target.
