BLANKET MINE coach Luke Petros says the club is taking the Munhumutapa Cup seriously and are targeting success in the country’s premier cup competition.

They host a struggling FC Platinum U19 at Sabiwa stadium this afternoon in the second round of the competition.

The miners have been in good form in the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League where they sit in third place on the log standings with 15 points from seven matches.

And the former Kaizer Chiefs and Zimbabwe International is approaching the cup tie with a lot of positivity

“This is the country’s biggest cup competition and we want to do well and get to the furthest point possible,” he said.

“As a team,we sat down with the players and coaches and discussed the opportunities that come with participating in this competition so we are very focused and determined to do our best.”

Sunday Fixtures: Gwanda Pirates v Grain Tigers, Shabanie v MSU, Blanket Mine v FC Platinum U19, Kwekwe United v Shurugwi fc.
