TELONE ended their winless run at home in emphatic fashion with a 1-0 win against Highlanders.
Utility player, Chelsea Nyakope struck a beautiful goal three minutes before time.
It was a refreshing moment for the TelOne faithfuls who had endured agony for the eight matches home matches.
TelOne coach, Saul Chaminuka was a relieved man.
“This is a result of hard work, we have been working so hard to be here,” he said.
“To win against a big team like Highlanders is massive.
“The team has been playing well the whole time we just have been unlucky but we hope that this will be the turning point.”
The Wifi Boys are now in 16th place on the table and are now hoping this could turn their stuttering campaign around.
Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari was left frustrated after his side wanted a glut of chances.
“Losing in that manner is always difficult,” he said after the match.
“We had a lot of chances that we couldn’t convert,we controlled the match in the first half but going forward we didn’t have that desire, that high tempo.
“Sometimes when you play good football but without intentions to hurt other teams that’s what happens.”
