SCOTTLAND coach, Norman Mapeza gave a candid assessment of his side’s opponents in the CAF champions league Petro de Luanda after a 2-0 win at the National Sports stadium.
The two sides will clash again in Luanda, Angola in the second leg this coming weekend.
Despite carrying what appears to be a comfortable lead into the second leg, the former warriors gaffer remains cautious.
“We need to go there and fight, you can tell they are a very organized team with experienced players, so we need to go there and fight,”said Mapeza.
“If we are going to concede early then we are in trouble, it’s either we score early because if we concede early we are in trouble.”
Scottland needed two second half goals from the experienced duo of Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona to see off the Angolans.
But what was striking about Mabviravira was their water tight defence that is yet to concede a goal in three matches in the competition.
“It’s all about organization, in any game of football you have to be organized, the first thing is you have to work on the defence first before you think about the attack,” he noted.
