BLANKET MINE coach, Luke Petros-Jukulile says his team is targeting to maintain their unbeaten record intact when they switch for us to the Dream Inn -GMI Super 8 Challenge Cup.
The Central Region Soccer League log leaders are enjoying a purple patch this season.
They currently lead the race for promotion with a four points cushion and have qualified for the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup Quarter Finals.
On Sunday, ‘the barbers’, as Blanket Mine are affectionately known will host Grain Tigers at Sabiwa stadium.
Ahead of the match, the former warriors striker insisted on keeping a clean record this season.
“The team is ready for the battle come Sunday,” he told The Echo Sports.
“We want to make sure that we give our usual best on Sunday and hope to maintain our unbeaten record in all competitions.
“This is the only cup we have in our Central Region, we want to get as far as we possibly can.”
Action kicks off on Saturday with the Military derby between Chapungu and Tongogara being the headline match at Ascot stadium.
The two sides have already met twice this season with both matches ending in draws.
Chapungu emerged victorious via penalties in the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup and Tongogara will be looking to exact revenge.
In Gwanda, another derby is on the cards when West Nicholson hosts Gwanda Pirates.
West Nicholson have been unlucky in the derbies having already lost twice to Pirates.
Sunday will witness the other two matches where Kwekwe United will be at home to Gwanda Pirates Super Strikers.
The former Premiership side are desperate to get back to winning ways after a set back last weekend in a 2-2 draw away to Shurugwi FC.
