AFTER opening his scoring account with a brace last week, Yadah Stars talisman Khama Billiat was the villain after he was sent off for violent conduct in the Miracle boys’ 1-0 loss to Herentals at Rufaro stadium.

Herentals hard man Godfrey Mukambi’s goal secured the Students’ first home victory of the season.

It was however, Billiat’s red card that overshadowed the Students’ win.

“Of course, the red card was also a turning point in the match, but it’s a game of football and these things happen,” said Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive.

His Herentals counterpart Paul Benza was delighted to record his first home victory of the campaign.

“I am very happy not only for the three points, but for the first win at home this season,” he said.

“It was also very critical for us to score first because in the previous games, we were the ones who were conceding first and were always having to come back from behind.”

Elsewhere, champions Ngezi Platinum Stars got the better of Bulawayo Chiefs with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Takunda Benhura goal.

Ngezi Platinum coach, Takesure Chiragwi feels this win will propel his charges to do better in the coming matches.

“We really needed this win because if you look at the performances of these boys from the first game we have played this season, the results we were getting were not equal to the performances that we were giving,” Chiragwi said.

“But I’m happy with the win and i think this will give us confidence and motivation going forward.”
