CHAPUNGU extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches this season with an impressive 5-0 win against FC Platinum U19 at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.
It was a welcome home win for the Air force of Zimbabwe side after the goalless draw away to Dulibadzimu in mid week.
In form striker, Edward ‘Kariba’ has opened the scoring inside 10 minutes before Tadiwa Mambudzi added a second.
Tafadzwa Marufu, son to former Chapungu striker, Phillip Marufu put his name on the score sheet scoring the third.
Two late goals in the second half from Arthur Chinda and Byron Mapiye completed the rout.
Chapungu assistant coach Moenda Muchingami was happy with the performance.
“A very good game of football, the boys responded well to the encouragement we have been giving them,” Muchingami said.
“We recovered well after the goalless draw away from home last week, playing at home was a must win game.
“The boys did well to win and we did it in emphatic fashion.”
Elsewhere, Kwekwe United thrashed West Nicholson 3-1 in a top of the table clash at Baghdad stadium.
The Gwanda derby between Supper Strikers and Blanket Mine ended in a goalless draw at Phelandaba stadium.
