AFTER the completion of match day seven in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League this afternoon which saw MWOS inflicting more pain on Simba Bhora with a 1-0 win, we give a review of the match day. Below are the five talking points from this weekend’s action.
1. Navaya answers critics
Having attracted criticism for his lack of goals in front of goals, reigning Soccer Star of the Year Washington Navaya came up with a perfect response.
The gangly striker, scored what proved to be a decisive goal against Agama at Chahwanda stadium.
This was only his second goal of the season in seven attempts and certainly came in the nick of time.
Crucially, the goal propelled Hardrock to second position on the log standings.
Now the Navigator as he is affectionately known, now needs to kick on from here and keep going.
2. Maruwa under fire
If the situation at TelOne was concerning, now it has reached worrying levels.
The Wifi Boys suffered their fourth straight home loss of the season when they lost 2-0 to Chicken Inn on Saturday.
This is no longer a bad spell, it is spiralling out of control and coach, Hebert Maruwa has to find a solution real quick.

“Now we need to work together as a family, it is not about the coach only, everyone involved at TelOne must come together,”he said post match.
At least there is a reprieve for Maruwa as reports suggest the under fire coach retains support from the executive.
TelOne will face Caps United this weekend, a loss may spell doom for Maruwa.
There is only one way out. Win Jompano Win!
3. Thole the fall guy again
Simba Bhora goalkeeper, William Thole made a solid start to the season keeping five clean sheets.
It seemed like he was immortal, alas! He is mortal too.
A mistake against Dynamos last week saw the Shamva side losing their first match of the season.
As if that was not enough, the Malawian was to blame for MWOS’ solitary goal in the 1-0 defeat at Ngoni stadium on Monday.
Football can be unforgiving. Simba Bhora coach Mandla Mpofu tore into the Malawian.

“We have made two mistakes in two crucial games that we should have done better,” Mpofu said.
“Thole knows, he could have done better, this is a second mistake he has done and it has costed us, it happens in football.”
4. Kawondera’s star keeps shining
Ask Ralph Kawondera what is the secret to his success he will tell you that ‘Nothing beats experience.’
The veteran has reinvented himself and still maintains the same end product.

Kawondera is literally carrying Herentals on his back, his goal proving vital as the students edged bottom side Manica Diamonds 2-1.
He is now the league’s top goal scorer with five goals. Just wondering where would Herentals be without Kawondera?
5. Foreign contingent chaffs Ndiraya.
Chicken Inn coach, Tonderai Ndiraya is a happy man, happy for many reasons.
One: His team is beginning to find it rhythm, notching up a second victory on the trot when beating TelOne 2-0 on Saturday.
Two: His contingent of foreign players is at the heart of the Gamecocks ascendancy.
Cameroonian Ngnowa Hapmo was on the score sheet, opening the scoring against TelOne.
Another of the foreigners, Sefu Louisam was outstanding in defence while two others, Namibian Tyrese Wanguawa Hikepembe and Binwell Katinji also featured.
“Particularly in our team, the foreigners are giving us what we didn’t have last year,”Ndiraya said.
“It has really improved the team because of their presence, we are no longer push overs.”
