HARDROCK reclaimed top spot in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Simba Bhora.
Reigning soccer star of the year Washington Navaya returned to fold bagging a first half brace.
Substitute, Sam Makawa added the third firing from range to mark a memorable afternoon for the Kwekwe side.
The result leaves the Kasongo boys top of the standings with 31 points same as Scottland but with a better goal difference.
“It’s a very important win for us, we haven’t won in the last two games but we responded positively,” said Hardrock coach Kelvin Kaindu.
“It’s a game that had a lot of pressure because people were talking about our position on the log.
“But we did well scoring two goals after making changes to the team it shows how much depth we have in the team.”
For Simba Bhora the result means that the former champions have now clocked five matches without a win.
In that period they have lost three times and managed two draws.
Simba Bhora coach Mandla Mpofu is a worried man.
“I am worried, we came into this match worried about the last couple of games we haven’t been doing well.
“I’m very disappointed we had a good chance to make sure we go away with something out of this one.”
In Harare, Caps United needed a last minute penalty to see off ZPC Kariba in a five goal thriller at Rufaro stadium.
Makepekepe eventually walked away 3-2 victors to keep the pressure on the leading pack.
FC Platinum edged Triangle 1-0 at GIbbo Stadium to pile the pressure on Lloyd Chitembwe at the Lowveld side.
Harare giants, Dynamos crumbled in time added as Manica Diamonds forced a 2-2 draw at Sakubva Stadium.
