TELONE coach, Saul Chaminuka has hit out at poor match officiating after his side’s 2-1 loss to Manica Diamonds in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Ascot stadium.
Chaminuka was presiding over his third match in charge of the WiFi Boys, suffering a second straight home loss, the club’s seventh at home.
However, some poor officiating from Mercy Mayimbo robbed TelOne of what could have been a valuable point.
She was at the centre of a controversial decision to rule out what appeared to be an equalizer by Tawanda Macheke in the second half.
A number of decisions also went against the Gweru side leaving Chaminuka to vent out after the match.
It is very difficult, I look every day from my first game, there seems to be a plot against us,” Chaminuka said.
“The officiating, I do not want to talk about the officiating, I want to talk about the technical aspects of the game but then when the players have done what they need to do to win the game and someone decides.
“I do not know why we are coming to play when match officials have results already.”
Chaminuka will likely face sanctions from the Premier Soccer League for his remarks.
This is not the first time he has openly criticized the referees, last season, he faced some backlash after ordering his players off the field when he was coaching Dynamos after a penalty decision was awarded to FC Platinum.
Meanwhile, FC Platinum recorded back to back victories for the first time this season after a narrow 1-0 win against Chicken Inn at Mandava.
FC Platinum coach, Joel Luphahla believes it’s still a long way to go for his team to be where he wants them to be.
“We cannot say that we are back but we are happy we have managed to get back to back wins
“Getting a win away set the tone for us,playing Chicken Inn, they are not an easy team playing with five at the back but we managed to create a lot of chances that the boys missed.”
