THE Central Region Soccer League is likely to commence on the first week of April.
This follows the postponement of the league’s kick off which was scheduled for the coming weekend.
Central Region chairperson Patrick Hill told The Echo Sports that delays in player registration had caused the postponement of the league.
“The commencement of the league has been delayed by a week or two,” he said.
“This is as a result of a hiccup with the registration process, we want to make sure that every club has registered its players, this applies to all regions.
The registration is being done by the ZIFA office in Harare.”
The delays in the league kick off gives clubs more time to prepare for what should be a long season.
This term, there will be a Super 8 Cup that was launched at the Annual General Meeting in February.
The top eight teams at the half way stage of the season will qualify for the tournament.
On Monday, the Central Region released fixtures for this season signalling that the kick off is nigh.
