ZIMBABWE Cricket national team coach, Dave Houghton has challenged his players to have the mental strength required at the highest level in order to get the job done.
The chevrons take on Namibia this afternoon in the third T20 International and could take a series lead with a win today.
However, Zimbabwe have not been convincing in the two matches played so far as they have been stretched to the limit by the Namibians.
Houghton feels the players need to have nerves of steel especially in matches they are expected to win.
“The worry for us has come about when we are playing against teams we have to beat, it is the pressure of expectation,” Houghton said.
“The problem arises when we get in a game should win, the is pressure of expectation and the pressure gets the better of us, we make mistakes at the wrong time but we need stay calm in out heads to get over the line. That to me is the biggest mindset issues.”
The series is tied one all and the Chevrons will be hoping for a better outing this time out as they will once again look for inspiration from all rounder Sikanda Raza.
