FORMER Premiership side, Sheasham have parted ways with coach Lizwe Sweswe, the club announced.
In a statement on Thursday afternoon, the club said they had decided to part ways with Sweswe by mutual consent.
He had been at the helm at the Gweru based side since July 2023.
“The club wishes to inform it’s supporters and all stakeholders that it has parted ways with the men’s head coach Lizwe Sweswe on mutual grounds,” the club’s media liaison officer Elias Maginya said.
“We thank coach Sweswe for his contributions to the club during his tenure and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Sheasham team manager, Asani Nhongo will be in charge in the interim as the club searches for Sweswe’s successor.
Sweswe, who won the league title with FC Platinum in 2019, joined The Construction boys midway through the 2023 season with the task of saving the side from relegation.
Sheasham failed to survive the chop that same year.
Last season, despite heavily investing in the squad, Sheasham failed to mount a serious charge at promotion from the Central Region Soccer League, finishing fifth on the log standings.
A new executive led by seasoned lawyer, Reginald Chidawanyika was appointed in December and have started to ring the changes in a bid to propel the Gweru side back into the top flight.
