FORMER Kaizer Chiefs striker, Luke Petros is now the head coach at Central Region Soccer League side, Blanket Mine.

Petros brings a wealth of experience to the Gwanda side having previously won two league titles with Whawha in 2015 and 2019.

Last season Petros was at Sheasham where he was assistant to Prince Matore.

Both coaches have left the Gweru side with Matore heading to Hardrock to become Kelvin Kaindu’s number two.

The former Amakhosi front man will be hoping to use his experience to guide the miners into the top flight.

This season, Gwanda Pirates are the favourites to clinch the sole ticket to promotion after they finished third in their maiden season.

Sheasham who finished second last season, are dithering on their participation this term.

Airforce of Zimbabwe side Chapungu and army side Tongogara are the other teams in with a chance to win the league.
