HARD ROCK have not been acquitted in the case in which they are accused of using an ineligible player, The Echo Sports understands.

Last week, Hard Rock appeared before a Central Region Soccer League disciplinary committee charged with fraudulently registering and using a player in the match against ZRP Gwanda in August.

The player in question Ephany Gwawawa played for Dulibadzimu in the first half of the season before joining Hard Rock and changing his name to Tanyaradzwa Tsiga.

He featured in the Kwekwe side’s 3-0 win against the police side.

Contrary to media reports that both the player and the club were acquitted, this publication understands that the matter has been referred to the ZIFA player’s status committee.

It is this committee that will determine the player’s eligibility to feature in that match.

The Kwekwe side occupies pole position in the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League and are poised for promotion to the Premier Soccer League(PSL).

They have 79 points, one more than their fierce rivals Sheasham who are in second place with 78 points.

But the league leaders could lose the plot should they be found guilty by the ZIFA Player Status committee.

If found guilty, Hard Rock risk being docked off three points which could have a catastrophic effect on their promotion ambitions.
