CAPS UNITED on Friday unveiled a new sponsorship deal worthy US $4.3 million bankrolled by Lesotho based financial institution Green Dollar Development bank.

The deal will span for three years and will commence in January 2026.

As part of the deal, the Harare giants will get US$1.1 million per season together with two luxury coaches.

Green Dollar Development will take up the front space of the Caps United playing kits.

This deal is expected to bring guaranteed stability to the Green Machine family after years of financial challenges.

Caps United president, Farai Jere, who has been holding the fort alone for decades, said this is more than just a sponsorship package.

“With a sponsor, there is an arms length relationship, but being a partner you come up with solutions together,” he said in his address.

“We are in this together, we prefer to call them from now our partners, when we are talking about partnerships, we are talking about a very special bond.”

Although the sponsorship deal comes into effect next year, the timing of the announcement will enthuse the Caps United family ahead of the Harare derby against Dynamos on Sunday.

Caps United lock horns with cross town rivals Dynamos at a time both teams are battling against relegation.

They are precariously positioned in 13th place on the log standings with 32 points and are far from safety.

Makepekepe last won the league title in 2016 under the guidance of Lloyd Chitembwe but have struggled to replicate the same feat in the past seasons.

Jere however, believes this marks a turning point for the club declaring that the Cup Kings are ascending back to their throne.

“We are laying a foundation as Caps United and our partners where we will build a very powerful institution which will make its fans very proud.

This is a game changing moment in the history of the Green Machine, it is the start of something that will shake our football establishment.

This is a revolution that is starting and results will be there for all to see and Caps United will be at the heart of it,” he added.
