FORMER premiership side, Sheasham’s quest for a return to the top flight will be put to test when they face in form Hard Rock at Baghdad stadium this afternoon.

The two sides are separated by six points in the race for promotion in the Central Region Soccer League.

Sheasham are yet to taste defeat 23 matches into the campaign as they sit on 63 points.

But they face off against a spirited Hard Rock side that has won their past six matches without conceding a goal.

Hard Rock are aware that any slip up today, will vanquish their promotion hopes and will fight tooth and nail to save their season.

While the Construction boys are not leaving anything to chance.

“It’s going to be tricky because they are doing well,”said Sheasham coach Prince Matore.

“They (Hard Rock )have been winning and doing well, chasing us, they will be fighting for everything.

“What is important is to focus and try to do well when we play them, Hard Rock has quality players, quality coaches.”

Matore however, feels this match is not a title decider, regardless of the outcome, there is a long way to go in the title race.

He reckons this season, the title race will go down to the wire as the two teams fight for the sole ticket to the Premier Soccer League.

“It’s not going to be easy, whoever is going to win will probably have to reach 90 points, that is not an easy mark to reach, last year it was around 70 points,” added the former Motor Action defender.

“The way Hard Rock are doing, it will be a photo finish, we can’t talk about the championship at this stage.”

“I don’t think this match will decide anything. What is important is to take points each game, all games are going to be difficult.”
