TEMPERATURES are rising in the Central Region Soccer League race for promotion and this week could be decisive.

Title rivals Sheasham and Hard Rock will clash at Baghdad stadium on Sunday in a winner takes all match.

But before that, mid-week fixtures beckons on Wednesday for all the teams in the league.

Hard Rock, who trail Sheasham by six points have a tricky away fixture to Matobo.

The Kwekwe side are desperate to keep apace with the Construction boys and will not want to drop points ahead of the weekend’s clash.

Sheasham are at home to Blanket Mine at Bata stadium, in what should be an easy tie for the home side.

In Gwanda, ZRP Gwanda welcomes Beitbridge side Dulibadzimu United, while Johannes Ngodzo leads his Gwanda Pirates away to Dinson Mvuma.

Airforce of Zimbabwe side, Chapungu are away to West Nicholson while army side Tongogara hosts Smart Muchabaiwa coached MSU.

Former premiership side, Shabanie are at home to stubborn Grain Tigers at Maglas stadium.

Meanwhile, the Central Region Soccer League sealed a deal with 98.4 FM Midlands as the league’s media partner.

This will see the radio station broadcasting matches live as well as having a dedicated show every Friday.

98.4 FM Midlands station manager, Victoria Nyanhete noted that the partnership is a game changer in developing football in the region.

“We are honoured to serve and be in partnership with ZIFA Central Region, this collaboration represents more than a partnership,” she said.

“It is a shared commitment to elevating local football as well as talent and providing a platform where excellence can be recognized.”

Central Region vice chairperson, Pithias Shoko added that the deal is a welcome development for the region.

“We welcome 98.4 FM Midlands on board, this deal will enhance competition in the league,” he said.
