THE Central Region Soccer League(CRSL) has been rocked by controversy following claims that Hard Rock allegedly used an improperly registered player.

This could potentially see the destiny of this year’s title being decided in the boardroom.

The Kwekwe side are in a two horse race with Sheasham in the race for promotion to the top flight.

Sheasham are top of the standings on 48 points, six ahead of second placed Hard Rock.

But there is a twist to it, that could have a bearing on who wins the sole ticket to the premiership.

Hard Rock are accused of fraudulently registering Tanyaradzwa Tsiga and using him in the match against ZRP Gwanda last week.

The match ended 3-0 in favour of the Kasongo boys.

Tsiga is understood to have previously featured for Dulibadzimu United in the first half of the season under a different name.

At Dulibadzimu, the left back was registered as Ephany Gwawawa.

A case of one player using two different identities.

This has raised the ire of the police side who are now questioning the registration of the player.

They believe Hard Rock obtained an unfair advantage by using a player whom they believe was ‘fraudulently registered.’

ZRP Gwanda have written to the CRSL presenting their case.

“This letter serves to officially lodge our complaint against Hard Rock Football Club for fielding a player named Ephany Gwawawa who is known to be registered by Dulibadzimu United F.C where he played matches in the first half of the 2025 CRSL,” reads part of the complaint from ZRP Gwanda.

“The said player featured in our match against Hard Rock F.C played at Baghdad stadium in Kwekwe on 09/08/25.

“Surprisingly, he was using the name Tanyaradzwa Tsiga Registration ID:010989MO7 and wearing jersey number 12.

“He was fielded for the whole duration of the match playing the left back position.”

In their papers, the police side contend that Gwawawa is a Dynamos player who was loaned out to Dulibadzimu United.

They further say that at the border side, Gwawawa’s documents reveal that he was born on 6 July 2001, playing using registration ID 008010M01.

While, at Hard Rock he is known as Tsiga, born on 15 August 2007, and his registration number ID 010989M07.

“He moved to Hard Rock F.C during the mid-season window where he is featuring with completely different registration particulars,” adds ZRP Gwanda.

“With these new particulars, he now qualifies to be potentially registered fraudulently as a developmental player who is under 20 years of age.

“We therefore, have a strong conviction that the said player is unregistered or
fraudulently registered by Hard Rock F.C and was fielded illegally.”

Possible punishment

According to article 11.1 of the CRSL competitions rules, if found guilty, Hard Rock risk having three points docked off.

“Any club found to have played or named on its Team sheet an ineligible player in a match shall have points gained from that match deducted from its record,” reads the rules.

“These points are not awarded to the opposing club but thrown away and have levied upon it a fine in accordance with the Fines Tariff.”

However, Hard Rock are pleading their innocence in the matter, club chairperson Jonathan Chahwanda denied any wrong doing.

He said they did everything by the book based on the documentation presented to them by the player.

“I do not have anything to do with that issue, it is handled by the administration,” he said.

“ZIFA are the ones who register players, we only present to them documents that are availed to us by the player.

“They are the ones who do verifications and production of player licences.”
