FORMER champions FC Platinum are aware of the arduous task ahead of them this coming weekend when they visit high riding MWOS.

Pure Platinum Play clash with the Punters at Ngoni stadium in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match on Saturday.

The Norton based side have their home record intact, yet to taste defeat at their home ground this season.

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is fully aware that his side will have to be at their best to dislodge MWOS in their own backyard.

Despite dropping points in their last outing in a 1-0 loss to Yadah, Mapeza believes MWOS are still one of the best sides.

“MWOS have been one of the best teams in the first half of the season,” he said.

“In terms of their consistency and getting results,” Mapeza added.

“If you look at their home record, they haven’t lost, I understand even during their days in the first division.

“A very quality side, well coached side, they know each other well.

“If you have a club that knows each other, their weaknesses and strengths- dangerous opponents but we are ready.”

MWOS have added striker Innocent Masiiwa, to lessen the burden for goals on Billy Veremu.

They have also roped in midfielder Abubakor Moffat to their squad as they seek to finish the season strongly.

New arrival: Striker Innocent Masiiwa rejoined MWOS during the week.

The Zvishavane side have rediscovered their form after a lukewarm start to the season.

They are now sixth on the log standings, with 28 points, 12 adrift of MWOS, although they have two games in hand.

Bhebhe’s accident was devastating

FC Platinum will be without Oscar Bhebhe after he sustained injuries in a car accident on Monday.

Mapeza said Bhebhe’s injury was devastating to the squad.

“It was a sad development, after losing Brian Banda in the space of two weeks, then last time that Oscar Bhebhe was involved in an accident.

“We all got disturbed because of that, we all got disturbed, but look, we are dealing with hurdles here,” he said.
