CENTRAL Region Soccer League side Sheasham on Thursday made a bold statement of their intentions to return to the top flight by unveiling a new 67 seater team bus.
The bus, an AsiaStar model, is a massive upgrade to the 30 seater the team has been using over the past five seasons.
Sheasham leads the race for promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
They are perched at the summit of the log standings with 45 points from 17 matches.
Kwekwe based Hard rock are in second place, six points adrift of the leaders.
Cognisant of the stiff competition that lies ahead, The Construction boys are not leaving anything to chance.
Sheasham Chief Executive Officer, Bright Kadenge said the new wheels were testament of the direction the club is taking.
“We are happy with this bus, it represents growth, this is the foundation,” said Kadenge.

“It shows where we want to go with this club, we are looking at something big.
“This is just a statement of just saying we are here to stay and to go to the Premier League.”
Long term investment and commitment
Club president, Clever Mandaza reiterated his company’s commitment to supporting sports.
Mandaza, through Sheasham Investments, bankrolls the club together with the ladies side Sheasham Gweru Queens.
The ladies side currently sits in sixth position in the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League.
“The bus reflects our commitment to sports in Zimbabwe,” he pointed out.

“We are pleased to be part of that social development, whereby, we emphasize the importance of social integration.
“This is a milestone that shows we have faith in our footballers and the path that they are taking.
“We hope that the results they are going to produce will show our intentions.”
The club has in the past made significant investment in sports such as the renovations of Bata stadium to meet the premiership standards.
