Newly appointed Kwekwe United coach, Masimba Dinyero was impressed by his charges in their goalless draw at home against Highlanders.

Dinyero took over the reins at the Midlands based outfit during the week.

He would not asked for a harder fixture for his opening match,than facing Bosso.

However, his charges defied their position on the log standings with a gallant performance.

Dinyero was impressed by how his youthful side applied themselves.

“It’s a starting point for them,” the former Dynamos midfielder said after the match.

“It was a motivational match against Highlanders, everyone was motivated.

“They are a big team, and these are youngsters who want to make names for themselves.”

Kwekwe United paraded two new acquisitions, midfielder Cedric Maruta and striker Takudzwa Chimhowa.

It was Chimhowa, who tormented Bosso with his silky artistry with the ball and dazzling pace.

“There are new additions that are coming,my strike force needs to be improved.

“Even the midfield needs to be sharpened, these are youngsters mostly 19-20, we need to blend them with experience,” he added.

Bosso’s dry spell

For Highlanders it was their third straight match without hitting the back of the nets.

And interim coach Try Ncube is cognisant of the need to sharpen his frontline.

“If there is a player that is available, we are definitely going to reinforce,” Ncube said.

“The strike force is a crucial department, if you look, in those three games, we have conceded once but failed to score,so we need to add a striker or two.”

The former league champions are ninth on the standings with 24 points.

In Harare, Caps United bagged three points and bragging rights after edging Scottland 1-0.

Striker Chris Mugalu scored the goal for Makepekepe.

TelOne came from behind to ensure a share of the spoils away to Triangle.
