DYNAMOS coach, Saul Chaminuka yesterday slammed the refereeing standards in the country describing match officials as ‘cheats’.

This was after the abandonment of the Harare giants’ match against FC Platinum at Mandava stadium.

The match was abandoned in the 75th minute, with the two sides tied one all when FC Platinum were awarded a penalty.

Dynamos players protested referee, Quedisani Dirwai’s decision to penalize Dynamos defender Emmanuel Jalai for allegedly tripping FC Platinum’s Oscar Bhebhe inside the box.

In his post match media interviews, Chaminuka fumed at the match officiating.

“We are not coaching a game that we don’t know, we are coaching a game that we know very well,”decried Chaminuka.

“And the game flowed up to the point we said aah this is too much.I am sure the authorities will do something

“If they don’t, what can you say about it because the authorities are the referees themselves again.”

He added: “The problem is we work in a game where we employ other people who come and are in charge of what we are doing.

“And they can abuse us whichever way they want. There is no fair play in our game, no fair play at all

“The reason why our game is not going up. The game in Zimbabwe will never go up because referees are cheating, this is cheating, let us be fair, let teams compete.”

Dembare to face punishment

Dembare are most likely to be charged by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and punished for causing the abandonment of the match.

Chaminuka as well will also face the wrath of the PSL for his comments about the referees.

Interestingly, Dirwai is the same referee who was in charge of the abandoned match between Scottland and Chicken Inn.

The match was abandoned in the 90th minute after the Gamecocks protested a penalty awarded to Scottland.
