THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has advised clubs that there will be no mid-season break this season.

Instead, matches will continue with match day 18 slated for the week ending June 28-29.

Normally, after the completion of the first round of fixtures, clubs go on a mid-season break.

The break usually coincides with the opening of the transfer window on the 1st of July.

However, acting PSL Chief Executive Officer, Rodwell Thabe wrote to the clubs notifying of the development.

“Please be advised that the Premier Soccer League will be proceeding with the 2025 season fixtures with match day 18 being scheduled for the weekend of 28-29 June 2025,” Thabe said in a letter to the clubs.

The decision to continue with matches is meant to avoid an anticipated fixture congestion in the coming months.

There is a possibility of disruption of the local PSL schedule due to upcoming international matches such as the CHAN qualifiers as well as cup games.

“This is to enable the Clubs to ease off the
expected fixture congestion that will occur in the later stages of the season,” added Thabe.

The PSL will however, observe breaks during dedicated FIFA international windows in August, September and October.

“The league will however endeavour to observe breaks for local matches during the FIFA Calendar window in September, October and November where possible.”
