KWEKWE UNITED have appointed Paul ‘Popopo’ Chimalizeni as their new head coach.

He replaces Saul Chaminuka who is now on the books of Dynamos.

The former Lengthens and Banket United coach was an assistant to Simba Bhora.

At the Kwekwe side, Chimalizeni will be assisted by former Dynamos goalkeeper, Gift Muzadzi and Christopher Mwanza.

Former warriors defender, Eric Chipeta completes the backroom staff as the team manager.

The Gold boys have also reployed their assistant coach Beknown Mhlaingena to their development side.

He will be responsible for the Kwekwe United under 19 side and talent scouting.

Kwekwe United Chief Executive Officer, Bridgette Mudhosi confirmed the new appointments to The Echo Sports.

“Paul Chimalizeni is our new coach, he started work on Wednesday,”she said.

“We trust in his abilities and therefore have not set him any targets but believe he will improve the squad.”
