AHEAD of their blockbuster clash on Sunday, Sheasham chairperson, Reginald Chidawanyika, has stalked the flames by describing Hardrock, as “mere division two champions.”
The two sides are set to clash at Bata stadium in a top of the table ZIFA Central Region Soccer League match.
Sheasham and Hardrock have emerged as frontrunners in the race for promotion to the Premier Soccer League.
They are currently tied on 16 points on the log standings, with the construction boys occupying pole position due to their superior goal difference.
Hardrock, sit second on the standings, undefeated and yet to concede.
They have assembled a formidable side that has experienced players, which has earned them the nickname ‘Galacticos’.
Amongst the Hardrock squad are players such as Donald Ngoma, Munyaradzi Diro Nyenye,Takabva Mawaya, Cleopas Dube, Lennox Mucheto and many more.
However, Chidawanyika is not moved by their star studded opponents.
Giving his remarks at the Sheasham fundraising dinner in the Midlands capital on Friday, respected lawyer said:
“I’m not even thinking about losing the match on Sunday. The team we are facing on Sunday, they are nothing but Division Two champions.
“We have more than 10 years as Sheasham and we want to move quickly back to the top and in the football business.”
But Sheasham coach, Prince Matore was diplomatic and modest ahead of the top of the table clash.
“What is important now is to collect points when we play at home,”he said.
“As much as we are playing a difficult team, we just have to keep focusing on what we do and make sure we get the best out of the team.”
