MIDLANDS State University(MSU) coach, Smart Muchabaiwa believes their home match against Tongogara today, presents an opportunity to turn around their season.

The former Shabanie Mine hard man is in his first year in charge of the Varsity Sharks.

They are yet to win under his tutelage, having registered two draws and three losses in five outings.

But Muchabaiwa opines that, it is only a matter of time before his charges turn the corner.

“The boys have been working very hard,” he told The Echo Sports.

“We have just been unlucky not to win, but I feel if we get one win,it will boost our confidence.

“The team is not bad, we just need to be patient with the young boys, what matters the most is that they are trying to implement what we do at training.”

On transitioning from playing to coaching, Muchabaiwa says he is also adjusting and learning at the same time.

“It’s a bit challenging now being a coach, the difference of learning and teaching,” he added.

“Now i have to teach but it’s a learning process for me also, i am still learning from other big coaches.”

Elsewhere, log leaders, Sheasham travel to Gwanda to face Blanket Mine at the Long John stadium.

Sheasham coach Prince Matore is expecting a tough outing, he opines that the log leaders tag makes every match tougher.

“The unfortunate thing is that we are on top of the log and every team that plays against us wants to win.So that makes it difficult for us in our upcoming fixtures,”he pointed out.

Air force of Zimbabwe side, Chapungu will be hoping to revive their campaign when they host West Nicholson at Ascot stadium.
