At Ascot stadium, TelOne needed a late Washington Navaya penalty to see off Bikita Minerals.

But it was not without controversy as Bikita Minerals protested both the penalty and the outcome of the match.

The match was momentarily halted for close to 10 minutes as Bikita Minerals protested the awarding of the spot kick.

After the match the Lithium boys players and officials charged at the match official, Mhaka Magare.

Bikita Minerals coach Wilson Mtekede felt his side was hard done by the referee’s decisions.

“I’m not afraid to say this, I’m not a naive coach, I am not a novice in terms of elite football,”he said.

“But those who are supposed to be controlling the game, they seem to be aiding certain teams.

“This is not right, I know what this means but I’m speaking from a sense of burden for Zimbabwean football.

“When we want to be competitive and compete better in the elite league, we definitely deserve better.”

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza challenged his charges to remain focused.

“A good game of football,we really played well especially in the second half despite not having many shots on target,” Mapeza said.

“Maybe it’s because of tiredness in the legs after traveling from Harare.

“A draw is a fair result under the circumstances we just need to stay focused, keep believing and working hard.”
