MASIMBA Mambare turned back the hands of time scoring a second half equalizer to salvage a point for Kwekwe United against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Bata stadium.
The veteran’s 63rd equalizing goal off a header on the near side cancelled out Ashwin Karengesha’s first half strike.
It was a deserved point for the league debutants who showed great character in the second half.
Kwekwe United coach, Saul Chaminuka was pleased with how his charges applied themselves.
“I think it was a good result, but I think it is a game we could have taken,” he said.
“Ngezi were playing a good game, look at the first half, some of my boys it is their first time at this stage.
“But after we talked to them, in the second half we equalized and created a lot of chances and caused anxious moments.
“It is important to avoid defeat especially on your first match in the league of you are newcomers.”
