ZPC HWANGE were crowned Champion of Champions after claiming an impressive 2-1 victory over Triangle in a final played at Bata stadium on Sunday.
John Chinyerere and Dingani Maphosa’s goals were enough to secure the title for the Hwange side.
Triangle striker, Manford Mudzimu scored the consolation from the spot kick.
ZPC Hwange coach, Mebelo Njekwa was delighted by winning the cup.
“It feels great, really great to be the champions,” he told the media after the match.
He added that his side got the better of their opponents due to their physical superiority.
“We were better than Triangle in that we were physically in a better condition.
“My boys had endurance and that helped us to see the game through and secure the victory,” he said.
Triangle coach, Luke Masomere said the tournament gave him a chance to assess the strength of his squad.
“It was a great game for us, we played well although I felt it was a game of two halves,” he said.
“They had a good first half and scored two quick goals we came back strong in the second but couldn’t get the goal.
“This tournament gave me an opportunity to see what I can carry into the next season.”
ZPC Hwange midfielder, Israel Mkahanana was voted as the player of the tournament.
Kwekwe United goalkeeper, Elton Nechiware and ZPC Hwange keeper, Harmony Nare were the joint winners in the goalkeeper’s category.
