ZPC Hwange and Triangle will clash in the Champions of Champions Cup final after both teams proceeded to the finals via penalties at Bata stadium on Saturday.
ZPC Hwange came from behind to draw 1-1 against a flamboyant Scottland side.
Jacob Nyakope gave the Harare side the lead in the first half before his goal was cancelled out by a perfect headed goal from Admire Banda.
The match had to be decided on penalties with the Hwange outfit emerging 4-3 victors.
Israel Mkahanana,Justin Kaunda,Courage Sibanda and Harmony Nare converted their spot kicks for ZPC while Gerald Ndlovu missed.
Scottland scored through Ronald Pfumbidzai, Lincoln Zvasiya and Fortune Munemo.
McClive Phiri and Leeroy Mavhunga had their penalties saved by Nare.
The final will be played at 3pm on Sunday.
ZPC Hwange coach, Mabelo Njekwa was delighted at reaching the finals.
“I am very pleased, we have come a long way and we came here to grab something,” he said.
“We got a penalty and missed it in open play but the boys never gave up and we are in the finals.”
Triangle beat Kwekwe United
In the afternoon match,Triangle beat Kwekwe United 5-4 on penalties after another 1-1 draw.
Gangly striker, Elton Njini thrust Kwekwe ahead in the first half before Roland Makawa equalized for Triangle.
David Chipo,Simbarashe Chimanikire, Nesbert Gwede and Shelton Maravanyika scored their spot kicks for Kwekwe United.
Chengetai Tirimboyi was the fall guy as his effort struck the cross bar.
Triangle had Thabani Kamusoko,Ali Sadiki,Jameson Mukombwe,Joel Kwekwele and Manford Mudzimu converting.
Triangle coach Luke Masomere said they are taking the cup final seriously.
“I am very happy that we are in the finals, we did not come here for holiday,” said Masomere.
“Yes, we are celebrating winning promotion but this is not a holiday we want to win this tournament.”
Kwekwe United gaffer, Prince Matore bemoaned poor preparations for his side’s loss.
“You could see in the second half we were fatigued, the boys couldn’t carry on,” decried Matore.
“I can’t really talk about our performance because a lot of things were not in place for our training that affected how we played.”
Kwekwe United will play Scottland in the third place match at 12 pm on Sunday before the final.
The Champions of Champions Cup is in its inaugural year and brings together the four promoted teams from the regional division one leagues.
