WOMEN’S bodybuilding and fitness athlete, Yeukayi Midzi is confident of retaining her title at this year’s 2024 national finals.

The country’s top bodybuilding and fitness enthusiasts will congregate at the 7 Arts theatre in Harare on Saturday.

Midzi, who is the reigning champion in the women’s category is confident ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

Having spent the better part of the year on the sidelines due to an injury, Midzi says she is now back to her best.

She used the past two shows, the Harare Classic and the FPA UK qualifiers.

“The time has come and i have been preparing for a long time,” she told The Echo Sports.

“As usual, its a long term process to obtain the best of physique and i had the whole year to prepare.

“I did put some shows to test, and feel the stage in preparation for the big shows.”

Recent appearances

The Muscle and Fitness Gym athlete added:

“I finished fourth at the Harare Classic and it pushed me to work extra hard, and obtained first position on the FPA UK qualifier.”

Midzi revealed that her successful run at last year’s national finals has inspired her to work harder this time around.

She boldly declared that nothing will stop in her way to claim the top gong this time around.

“One of my target shows now left is the 2024 nationals this Saturday,”she pointed out.

“A woman’s work for the whole year is showcased and being the current Miss Zimbabwe fitness, it somehow makes my training much more enjoyable.”

“Each time i look at the trophy, I’m filled with strength to even work harder.

“I did it before and nothing can stop me,i can still do it again.

“All the best to myself this Saturday,i am getting the trophy back to the Midlands.”
