FORMER Taekwondo national team captain Admire Tshitshiliza has completed the internationally acclaimed Global Master’s course.

The 31 year old, who is also the Taekwondo junior national team coach completed the program last Saturday in Muju, South Korea.

He becomes only the third Zimbabwean to complete the prestigious coaching course.

Taekwondo National team coach, Ndaona Kembo and Willard Kashiri are the other two who have also done the program.

Tshitshiliza said the knowledge he garnered during the three week stint in South Korea will go a long way in laying the foundation for his coaching career.

“This program will impact positively on my role as a coach now and in the future,” he said.

“Already we have scheduled several training seminars so that I can share the knowledge i got with other athletes in the country.”

The Taekwondo Global Master’s program is hosted by the World Taekwondo Federation (WFT).

It is a rigorous 160 hour training program that targets senior black belt holders and upcoming coaches from developing countries.

National team coach, Ndaona said this marks a significant step in developing the sport in the country.

“I hope we can have more young coaches doing such courses,” he said.

“Overall, it’s a positive development seeing young coaches getting exposure at this level.

“Athletes who have competed at the highest level need to remain in the system for the betterment of the sport.”

The Gweru based coach is a former national team player who made his debut for the country in 2012.

Having previously featured for the junior national team from 2009.
