THEY may be seven points behind the log leaders but FC Platinum are not giving up yet on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
FC Platinum have a tricky fixture away to Hwange at the Colliery on Sunday.
The Norman Mapeza coached side will be looking to catch up with leaders Simba Bhora who host Chicken Inn today.
Mapeza admits that destiny is not in their hands but has not given up on the league title.
The platinum miners are on 50 points, seven adrift of the Shamva based outfit with six round of matches left.
Ahead of his side’s trip to Hwange, the former warriors coach believes it’s not going to be easy at the Colliery.
Hwange are in the relegation dog fight and Mapeza feels this makes the match even more difficult.
“It’s not going to be easy i know they will fight hard because they are fighting to survive relegation,” Mapeza said.
“For us we are still pushing for the championship, i haven’t given up so it will not be easy.
“What is important for us is to continue from where we left against Highlanders last week.
“So we will just carry those positives from the Highlanders match into this one against Hwange.”
The coal miners have been on the ascendency recently as they fight to preserve their place in the league.
They have pocketed four points in their last two matches, a win against Caps United and a draw away to Arenel Movers.
Mapeza opines that, this gives Hwage a psychological advantage over his side.
“They have a psychological advantage over us because they are coming from collecting four points in the last two matches better than us,” he added.
FC Platinum will be without midfielder Brian Banda who will be away on national duty with the warriors.
