WASHINGTON Navaya starred with a brace as TelOne cruised past Bikita Minerals 6-1 at Ascot stadium on Wednesday.
The gangly striker opened the scoring inside the first minute with an easy header from inside the box.
Skipper, Trust Nyabinde doubled the lead after 15 minutes latching on to a loose ball inside the box.
Nkosiyabo Masilela added another three minutes later heading in a Nyabinde cross from the right.
Tinashe Ruzive made sure it was not one way traffic with a consolation just after the half hour mark.
Masilela ensured the WiFi boys prevented a comeback completing his brace four minutes before the breather.
Moments after the break, Navaya also got his double with a clever low shot from inside the box after a defensive mishap.
Pint sized Dubai registered his name on the score sheet minutes before the final whistle.
TelOne moved out of the danger zone into 14th place on the log standings on 29 points.
The Wifi boys gaffer, Hebert Maruwa was elated by his side’s commanding performance.
“I am happy with the result, I have been saying it that goals will come,” an elated Maruwa said.
“And I am happy there is some progress in the team, i have always said we will get it right.
“We need to make sure we maintain this and move away from the relegation zone.
Bikita Minerals coach Arnold Jani sounded worried by his players’ attitude in the match.
“I do not know what may have happened in our team, this is not how we play,” he said.
“We have always conceded but today there was no heart whatsoever from the players.”
