TELONE are hoping to put behind them their home form when they host Bikita Minerals at Ascot stadium on Wednesday.
The WiFi boys have struggled to positively assert themselves at home this season.
Consequently, they find themselves battling to preserve their spot in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
They are currently in 15th place on the log table with 26 points from as many matches.
The Gweru side lost their last home match 2-1 to Tonderai Ndiraya’s trailblazing Simba Bhora almost a fortnight ago.
TelOne coach, Hebert Maruwa says they have put behind them their recent home struggles.
TURNING POINT
He added that their forthcoming fixture against Bikita Minerals should be the turning point of the season.
“We are approaching the game with clear minds, our position on the log is not good,” he told this publication.
“We need to get all the three points at all costs to turn around our season,” he added.
“Bikita Minerals are a good side, only four points separate us therefore, it’s going to be a tricky game.
“However, we have to win games like this one if we are going to survive relegation.”
The WiFi boys recently shifted base from Bata stadium to Ascot stadium.
And the hope is that the change of scenery will bring about good fortunes.
Maruwa emphasized the importance of having ‘cool heads’ for his players and not to let the poor home record get into their minds.
“What the players need to do is to keep their cool, forget about the poor form at home and just approach this one differently.
“Whatever happened is in the past, now we have to focus on the remaining home games and get the best out of them,” he added.
The Gweru side will be without key midfielder, Kudzanai Jaison who is suspended.
