ZIMBABWE national team coach, Michael Nees is pleased by team’s preparations ahead of the match against Kenya on Friday.

The warriors are set to play the Harambe stars in a AFCON 2025 Qualifier at the Mandela stadium on Friday afternoon.

Zimbabwe are in Group J together with heavyweights Cameroon as well as Namibia and Kenya.

Kenya are the home side and opted to use Uganda as their home as they do not have a stadium that meets the Caf requirements .

Similarly, the warriors will host Cameroon in Uganda on Monday, as they too do not have an approved stadium.

But ahead of his maiden match in charge, Nees was satisfied by the preparations so far.

“The conditions are really good, i think this is one of the best pitches in Africa,” Nees told the media.

“And we really appreciate the support we have got since we got here and we can’t complain.”

The warriors were however, dealt a blow after they lost two players to injury.

Plymouth Argyle defender Brendon Galloway and Nantes striker Tino Kadewere withdrew from the squad.

The German mentor ran the rule over his squad and gave his thoughts on the preparations so far.

“The session today was not intense because we had a long travel from Nairobi,” Nees revealed.

“But we tried to focus on the game with a reduced squad, we could focus a little bit on what to expect,” he added.
