KWEKWE United coach, Prince Matore says his players need to remain focused for the rest of the season.
The Kwekwe side opened a five point lead at the summit of the Central Region Soccer League.
Striker, David Chipo’s solitary goal in the second half was enough to see off Wangu Mazodze City at Ziscosteel club.
The blues are now on 38 points, five clear of second placed Tongogara who have a game in hand.
Kwekwe United has been in imperious form this season and have vastly improved under the guidance of Matore.
The former Chicken Inn coach feels they’re now the team to beat making each and every outing more difficult.
He called on his players to always bring their A’ game until the end of the season.
“We have to focus at each game as it comes because we can’t talk much about the championship,” said Matore.
“All these upcoming games are difficult because now we are the team to beat, it’s not going to be easy.”
Elsewhere, fourth placed Sheasham lost ground in the race for promotion with a 1-0 loss away to Dinson Mvuma.
The construction boys are now seven points behind the log leaders and remain in fourth place on the log standings with 31 points.
The Lizwe Sweswe coached side will now have to do it the hard away if they are to make an instant return to the top flight.
Chapungu who were inactive this weekend occupy third place, six adrift of the leaders while Dulibadzimu are fifth on 31 points.
The Beitbridge based outfit got the better of cross town rivals Beitbridge fc 2-0 in a border town derby.
