FC PLATINUM have been thrown into a goal keeping crisis after the injury to first choice keeper David Bizabani.

Bizabani has been reliable between the sticks for FC Platinum this season.

However, he was substituted injured last weekend in the Zvishavane side’s 3-1 win over Herentals at Mandava stadium.

And FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza on Friday revealed that the former Bulawayo Chiefs man could be out for a long time.

This leaves Pure Platinum Play thin in that department with only Wallace Magalane the only experienced goalkeeper available.

The other goalkeeper on FC Platinum’s books is rookie,Tapiwa Revesai.

FC Platinum are in the title race and lead the pack in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with 42 points.

With the transfer window closed, Mapeza revealed they may be forced to look for available free agents on the market.

MAPEZA’S THOUGHTS ON FINDING A SOLUTION FOR FC PLATINUM

“What I got is what I wanted,” Mapeza said of his team’s mid-season transfer business.

“But now, we have got a crisis, we don’t know how long David is going to be out,” he added.

“They have gone to Bulawayo for assessment and we do not know how long he is going to be out.

“Therefore, we have to look for another goalkeeper who is not contracted to any club.

“I have to talk to the executive and see what we can do because we need another goalkeeper,” he added.

The log leaders are on the road this weekend, they face struggling Caps United at Rufaro stadium on Sunday.

Nonetheless, Mapeza is cognisant of how difficult the encounter might be regardless of Makepekepe’s poor form.

CAPS UNITED MATCH NOT AN EASY ONE

“It’s difficult, very difficult, if you look at our match against Chicken Inn, they hadn’t been winning for some time,” the former national team coach told the media on Friday.

“But when they played against us they won.So i know what exactly happens in this league, that’s why I say it is not going to be easy for us.”

He added that his side will be without a few other players due to sickness and injury.

“In terms of our squad we are really depleted in terms of those injuries with guys who are not feeling well and others who picked up knocks,” he said.
