BLACK Rhinos Queens coach Kudakwashe Matuwi has challenged his charges to be clinical in front of goals in order to remain in the race for the league title in the Zimbabwe Women Soccer League.
The army side has of late been wasteful in front of goals, failing to punish teams despite dominating their opponents.
In their last match on Sunday, Chauya Chipembere needed a second half goal from veteran Felistus Muzongondi to edge Sheasham Gweru Queens 1-0 at Gweru Sports Club.
Matuwi believes his charges need to be more precise in front of goals and kill games off early.
Rhinos currently sit in third place with 30 points, three behind leaders Herentals Queens, who are level on points with Chapungu Queens.
The Students however, have a superior goal difference over Chapungu.
And Matuwi feels the race for the title this season will be a tight contest and his players have to be ruthless in front of goals.
“This year the competition is tough and it looks like the league will be decided by a slender margin or on goal difference therefore, we have to be clinical in front of goals so that we catch up and better those ahead of us,” he said.
The former league champions face Midlands State University (MSU) Queens in Gweru on Wednesday and a win on the road will see Chauya Chipembere go level on points with the leaders.
Ahead of the match, the Rhinos gaffer bemoaned the fixture congestion and the strain it has put on his players.
“We have to manage our players’ recovery and use the relief system so that we do not have fatigue and injuries because the games are too close to each other,” Matuwi said.
