TELONE’S new signing, goalkeeper Chris Mverechena has vowed to give it his all in ensuring the club survives relegation this season.

The experienced goal minder becomes the WiFi boys’ third signing this transfer window after the club also secured the services of Xolani Moyo and Tafadzwa Jaravani.

The Hebert Maruwa coached side have been very swift in their dealings in this transfer window as they seek to address their plummeting fortunes in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Telone are currently 15th on the log standings with 18 points and have the worst defensive record shipping in 23 goals so far this term.

Mwerechena is expected to bring in stability to the goalkeeping department where Matripples Muleya has often struggled this season and appears to have little competition in that department.

“I wish to fight, to bring peace, love and unity to the team so that we survive,” said Mverechena who has previously had stints at Caps United, Highlanders as well as Green Fuel.

“We will survive,i just believe that we have great coaches and players and everything we need to survive and we will do so, i believe in hard work.”

Since taking over from Tendai Chikuni in May, Maruwa has amassed five points from four matches in charge of the Gweru based outfit.

With the season at the half way stage, Telone have dedicated the break to put their house in order in preparation for what promises to be a gruelling relegation battle in the second half of the season.

The WiFi boys are also linked with the defensive duo of former national team players Victor Kamhuka and Jimmy Dzingai who have been training with the side.

Dynamos midfielder, Donald Mudadi whose contract with the Harae side lapsed at the end of last month is also said to be close to agreeing a deal with Telone.
