RELEGATION threatened Telone battled back to force a 1-1 draw against Caps United in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match on Sunday.

Defender, Hastings Chapusha thrust the former Cup kings into the lead after 22 minutes steering the ball home with an exquisite touch off a Godknows Murwira inch perfect cross.

The lead did not last long as Fradreck Muza headed home Blessing Sahondo’s inswinging delivery off a corner moments before the breather.

After that, Makepekepe’s dominance increased but they failed to find the target with the WiFi boys fighting for dear life.

Cap United coach Lloyd Chitembwe said the result was ‘frustrating’ for his side who have now failed to register a victory in their last four matches.

“Frustrating, frustrating is the right word,” said the Caps United gaffer.

“Naturally, the result is quite frustrating because at some point we were leading.”

Telone coach Hebert Maruwa chose to focus on the positives after securing a point against one of the league’s big guns.

“Im happy with the result and the way the boys are improving, we could have buried them especially in the first half we got a few good chances,” he said.

“Gradually the team is improving, we’re getting there and I can see light at the end of the tunnel.”

The draw leaves the WiFi boys in 15th place on the standings with 13 points and winless in 10 matches with just two matches before the half way mark into the season.
