KWEKWE UNITED were the biggest movers at the top of the Ruvimbo Central region soccer league after they climbed up to second place following a 1-0 victory over Bishopstone at Ziscosteel club on Saturday.
The Prince Matore coached side are now on 16 points, two points behind leaders Dulibadzimu who played out a one all draw against Tongogara at Dulibadzimu stadium.
Tongogara dropped to third place on the standings with 15 points although, the army side has a game in hand.
Gweru side Sheasham failed to capitalize on Dulibadzimu and Tongogara dropping points as they were also held to a goalless draw by Beitbridge United on Sunday.
The construction boys sit fourth on the standings with 14 points while West Nicholson complete the top five with the same number of points but have an inferior goal difference.
Former premiership side Chapungu slumped to their fourth straight defeat after going down 1-0 to Blanket Mine at Ascot stadium.
Corey Blake converted a first half penalty to pile pressure on the Chapungu technical department led by Tawanda Marimo.
“It’s a tough game of soccer, it is unfortunate that we are losing in such circumstances,” said Chapungu assistant coach Tafadzwa Mombeshora.
“It’s not that we are playing bad football but too many mistakes has cost us very vital points and it is sad for Chapungu.”
The Air force of Zimbabwe side are now in 12th position on the standings with a meagre seven points.
