RUVIMBO funeral central region soccer league log leaders Dulibadzimu’s title credentials will be put to test on Saturday when they face second placed Tongogara in a top of the table clash in the border town.
Tongogara have been one of the most consistent teams in the league over the past couple of seasons and narrowly missed promotion to eventual winners Telone last season.
Tomorrow’s clash is arguably the biggest match on the fixture given both sides’ start to the season.
Dulibadzimu are firmly perched at the top of the standings with 17 points, three more than the army side in second place with both teams undefeated so far although Tongogara have a game in hand.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Dulibadzimu coach Stanley Ncube hopes that his side rides on the momentum they have gained from their flying start to the campaign.
“We are taking it one game at a time and in this league you cannot take any opponent for granted,” Ncube told The Echo Sports.
“We approach every game with the same winning mentality, we have been doing well posting good results so we want to keep the momentum.”
Ncube added that he has a clean bill of health in his squad and that his charges are in high spirits.
“Preparations are going on very well and the moral is high in the camp, the guys are really motivated. We are injury free so it’s a boost to have all your players at your disposal in this encounter,”he added.
His Tongogara counterpart Calvin Maphosa was evasive saying he will be available for comment after the encounter.
Third placed Sheasham will be in action on Sunday against Beitbridge fc in the border town hoping to build on their back to back victories in the last two matches.
Former premiership side Chapungu who have suffered the ignominy of losing their last three matches will be hoping for a change of fortunes when they host Max Ruza’s Blanket Mine at Ascot stadium on Saturday.
Prince Matore coached Kwekwe United will welcome Bishopstone at Ziscosteel club while Black Eagles will entertain ZRP Gwanda in a police forces derby in Mberengwa.
The match between West Nicholson and FC Platinum completes the fixtures for Saturday. On Sunday, debutants Dinson Mvuma hosts Shabanie while Gokwe North fc are at home to Wangu Mazodze City.
