THEY may have not been clinical in front of their home fans lately but FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza still believes Highlanders are a difficult opponent at Babourfields stadium.
Bosso will host the miners in a top of the table clash on Sunday with the two sides separated by a single point.
Highlanders are at the apex of the log standings with 19 points while Mapeza’s men are third with 18 points. Manica Diamonds are second with 19 points but have an inferior goal difference to Bosso.
A win for FC Platinum will see them leapfrog the Bulawayo giants on the standings.
While Bosso have not been at their best at home in recent matches, losing to Chicken Inn and a draw against Arenel, Mapeza reckons Bosso remains a formidable side at home.
“We are playing a very good side although they have not been winning their games in Bulawayo, that is the derbies but they are a good side, it is a part of football everyone goes through that,” said Mapeza.
“We know the dangers that they can pose especially if they’re playing at Babourfields. All we have to do is go there and manage the three phases of the game.”
FC Platinum themselves have been going through a rough patch and needed a Rainsome Pavari goal against Green Fuel to end their four match winless run.
The former warriors skipper feels last week’s result was the right tonic his side needed to put their campaign back on track.
“Everytime you get a positive result it brings confidence no matter the score line. It was a hard fought victory but I think we needed it most, the month of April was terrible for us but that win really gave us something to focus on in our next matches,”he added.
