DINSON Mvuma coach Joseph Michaels has chosen to remain modest despite his side performing a giant killing act in a 2-1 victory over Chapungu in a midweek fixture in the Ruvimbo funerals Central Region Soccer League.

The former Chapungu defender and coach feels his side is still far from being title challengers but opines the win will spur his charges to do better in upcoming matches.

The Steel boys, as the Mvuma side is affectionately known, came from behind to put a solid second half display to grab the three points.

Chapungu had taken the lead in the first half courtesy of an Edward Watson strike but Dinson Mvuma turned the match on its head with a disciplined display in the second half.

Nesbert Gwede levelled for Dinson Mvuma from the spot early in second half before Tirivangani Machapuya killed the match off with a clever dink past Chapungu goalkeeper Polite Sibanda.

But Michaels is not getting carried away by the good result.

“My boys really played according to instructions, we had a proper game plan that we followed and that is why we managed to win the game,” Michaels said.

“We just beat them because it was our day, we are not saying we should get promotion. But this result gives us a morale booster ahead of our next match.”

The win moves the Mvuma side to third place on the log standings with nine points, they are however, four points behind leaders Dulibadzimu United.

Army side, Tongogara are second on the log with 10 points after they were held to a two all draw by West Nicholson.
