KWEKWE United coach, Prince Matore expects a tough battle when his side hosts preseason title favourites Sheasham in a Ruvimbo funeral Central Region Soccer League match at the Ziscosteel club on Saturday.

The Gweru side have had a lukewarm start to their season with two draws in the opening two matches.

And Matore is fully aware of the backlash his side may face from the construction boys.

“It’s a tough match playing Sheasham, they have quality and seasoned players. As we play them here, we have to try fight for our life,” Matore told The Echo Sports.

“They have collected few points, they have not won and not lost, so there is no advantage for us, we have to prepare for a tough encounter”

The Blues, as Kwekwe United are affectionately known have garnered four points so far, but Matore feels it is too early to be looking at the log standings at the moment.

He reckons for now it is about building momentum with each passing game.

“It’s still early to sum up progress of our team with only two games played. It’s a marathon every team looks well prepared for the season so we have to focus each game as it comes,” he added.
