SHEASHAM coach, Lizwe Sweswe is wary of the scanty information about the majority of teams in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League.

In his pre-match media press conference on Thursday, ahead of the league’s opening matches starting this weekend, Sweswe expressed concern over the little information available about most of his opponents.

The Gweru side are one of the teams touted as favourites for the sole ticket to the Premier Soccer League (PSL). Former premiership sides Chapungu and Tongogara are also expected to be in the promotion race.

Naturally, a lot is known about the construction boys’ team given the busy movement on the transfer market at the ambitious Gweru outfit.

“The challenge we have is that we will face teams that we don’t know much about, and playing against Sheasham will always be a motivation for them as they will come strong at us,” Sweswe said of his side’s league opener against Dulibadzimu in Beitbridge on Saturday.

Sheasham have made an almost complete overhaul of their squad retaining a handful of players they had in the PSL such as captain, William Stima,Roy Useni,Collen Kwaramba, Leonard Jani,Elton Sibanda, Physiwell Madhazi among others.

Their squad looks a lot different now with a number of additions with a lot of premier league experience. Former Highlanders striker Ray Lunga,Nickson Gama,Ayanda Ncube, Lucky Vundla and Kim Joe Sibanda are some of Sweswe’s new acquisitions.

While his side may be under the microscope of their competitors, Sweswe is confident his charges will rise to the occasion.

“I think the boys will rise to the occasion considering our preparations. So there is no small teams or easy games. Pressure is always there in football but we have to deal with it. That’s what we have been telling the players to just play our normal game,” he added.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Chapungu welcome Beitbridge fc at Ascot stadium, Blanket Mine hosts returnees Gokwe North at Long John stadium in Gwanda.

Last season’s runners up Tongogara open their campaign with a home tie against Black Eagles. Shabanie mine play host to Amazon while Bishopstone clash with FC Platinum U19.
